WHAT IS GENITAL WART


Genital wart is a small bump on the genitals caused by a virus called HUMAN PAPILLOMA VIRUS ( HPV).
The virus manifest as a wart- a small lump, and can be gotten though sexual contact or direct genital skin to skin contact with someone who has the virus. Sharing sex toys can pass on the infection in some cases.

PREVENTION

✍Prevention is through Sexual Abstinence or by HPV vaccination.

Condoms only reduce the risk but dosen’t totally prevent transmission of genital warts because it can still be passed on with skin to skin contact.

It takes weeks to months before symptoms show up. So if you are sexually active and you noticed a genital wart ,it does not necessarily mean you got it from your current partner.🙄

Some people with wart virus (HPV) dont have wart but can still infect others with the virus- this group of individuals are called CARRIERS.

SYMPTOMS
The lumps appear on the outer surface of the vagina,back passage,penis or scrotum, cervix or around the anus.
The wart can tear,bleed, even become painful and irritable.

CAN I HAVE SEX DURING TREATMENT?

the chances of reinfection or passing the virus to your partner is high so sex should wait till treatment is completed once you notice a genital wart of bump on your privates.

COMPLICATIONS
Most HPV strains cause no symptoms at all or cause the obvious genital warts which can affect the Aesthetic appeal or look of your body.

HPV can also cause cervical, penile, anal, oral cancer which can be fatal.
